We were driving around Rhodes and had stopped for some lunch at a country taverna, when I saw the outbuilding. The peeling and faded colours of the shutters complemented the yellow plaster wall. By only including part of the open window I wanted to convey a sense of mystery - what might there be beyond the window? I took this back in the days of film and was using Scotch 3200, a medium which produced wonderful grain and worked so well with these old, weather-beaten subjects.
